10 1Unequala weights and unequal measures are both alike an abomination to the LORD.
11 Even a child 2makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright.b
12 3The hearing ear and the seeing eye, 4the LORD has made them both.
13 5Love not sleep, lest you 6come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have 7plenty of bread.
14 "Bad, bad," says the buyer, but when he goes away, then he boasts.
15 There is gold and abundance of 8costly stones, 9but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
16 10Take a man's garment when he has put up security for a stranger, and 11hold it in pledge when he puts up security for foreigners.c
17 12Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man, but afterward his mouth will be full of 13gravel.
18 14Plans are established by counsel; by 15wise guidance 16wage war.
19 Whoever 17goes about slandering reveals secrets; therefore do not associate with 18a simple babbler.d
20 19If one curses his father or his mother, 20his lamp will be put out in utter darkness.
21 21An inheritance gained hastily in the beginning will not be blessed in the end.
22 Do not say, 22"I will repay evil"; 23wait for the LORD, and he will deliver you.
23 24Unequal weights are an abomination to the LORD, and 25false scales are not good.
24 A man's 26steps are from the LORD; how then can man understand his way?
25 It is a snare to say rashly, "It is holy," and to reflect only 27after making vows.
26 A wise king 28winnows the wicked and drives 29the wheel over them.
27 30The spirite of man is the lamp of the LORD, 31searching all 32his innermost parts.
28 33Steadfast love and faithfulness preserve the king, and by steadfast love his 34throne is upheld.
29 The glory of young men is their strength, but 35the splendor of old men is their gray hair.
30 36Blows that wound cleanse away evil; strokes make clean 37the innermost parts.
